Fall Fun at Beggs Family Farm

Yesterday we went to Sikeston, MO to a place called Beggs Family Farm. It was a really cold day but we had fun and there was alot for Luke and Westin to do. It probably would have been even better if it was a little warmer, but we made the best of it. They had pig races, playground stuff in the shapes of animals, big and smaller slide, corn mazes, sand areas, bouncy things, a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch and much more. Luke’s really liked feeding the goats. There would be three or four goats trying to get his food and he kept feeding this one goat. He also liked playing in the sand and sliding down the slides. There was a little ride thing that we strapped him in (the cow thing). All the animals were attached to a four wheeler that took them around where we were standing. It didn’t go very fast, but Luke wasn’t sure of it. He sat in it the whole time and didn’t cry, but by his facial expression, we weren’t too sure what he thought of it. We also rode in a trailer hooked to a big tractor out to a pumpkin patch where we got to pick pumpkins. Luke got pretty excited when we got to the pumpkin patch and kept pointing to all of the pumpkins. He kept pointing to them and saying “ball.” He would pick them up and throw them like they were balls. Needless to say he didn’t pick out his own pumpkin because he kept throwing them down. I don’t think he’ll get the idea better next year. We had a fun day and ended it by eating at Lambert’s.

Playin at a party

Luke went to Westin’s birthday party this weekend. At first, he was a little hesitant to get down and play but by the end of it, he was running everywhere. He really liked the trampoline, and playing in the foam pit. He also liked crawling around on the mats, walking on the beam, and of course playing in the water fountain. He didn’t really want to get in the blow up things, but I think he would have had he had a little more time. He had all this room to run around and play, and all these cool things, but some of the time, he would want to go out of the room or get into stuff that was blocked off. I guess that just goes with having a busy little boy that never stops, unless he is sleeping or eating. Here are a few pictures and a video from the party.

Our little knot head

Last night at the football game, Luke fell right on his head on the track (concrete). He had a big knot on his head and a little scratch on his face. He was fine after a little lovin, and continued runnin around at the game, only sitting still long enough to eat. Football games are not as much fun now, but we did manage to make it to half time. The problem is that he does not like to sit still, and if it was up to him, he would be out on the field playing. Anyway, the pictures show his knot. It was quite a big knot and looked bad last night but looks alot better today. The video also shows the knot but more so just Luke being Luke.

Randomness from Summer 09

16 months

Luke is 16 months today.  Again, as I say often, I can’t believe that he is that old and as big as he is.  He is such a ham and still as cute as ever.  He is getting more and more mobile, and can get anywhere fast.  He is hard to keep up with.  He is learning to run and loves to run away from you, especially when he has something he shouldn’t (which is quite often).  He is able to reach higher and higher.  What used to be a safe place to put something is not so safe anymore.  He can now get on the couch by himself, which leads to climbing on the table (in the living room) and walking on it.  He likes to climb and opn cabinets and pull everything out.  He still loves balls and anything round he sees, he points to it and says “ba ba (ball)”.  His vocabulary is increasing more and more, although many words sound the same.  Last week he weighed 24.5 pounds.  He has put on the weight..maybe due to his love for eating (and all the doughnuts people give him at church).  He is such a blast but sure is hard to keep up with.  We keep telling him that he is going to have a baby brother, and sometimes he will even say baby and point to my belly, but I don’t think he has a clue how his world will change in a few months.  It’s crazy to think he is going to be a big brother.

Luke’s First Haircut

Luke had his first haircut yesterday.  He had some really long hair in spots so I guess it was time…at least that’s what our friend DeeAnn said.  I think she just wanted to cut his hair.  Scott also said that Luke was not going to have a rat tail, and at times it kind of looked like it was getting that way.  So, he had a haircut yesterday.  For the most part, he did pretty good.  As most of you know he is not the most still baby.  He sat pretty still at times, but he did not want the cape around his neck (we figured that one since he is always pulling his bibs off and does not want anything around his neck).  The haircut was just another reminder of how big he is.
